A week after the crackdown of Tibet protest, Taiwan elected its first President, Ma Ying-jeou who always wants to have a closer economic relationship with China. In almost 60 years, Chinese communist party finally find a “friend” across the Taiwan Straits.

Chinese government always treats Taiwan as one of its provinces; and in many ways to pressure countries who have close ties with Taiwan. Tibet is just like Taiwan, and both of them would like to claim independent from mainland China. However, both failed to do so. Tibet’s crackdown in one way or the other influences Taiwan’s Presidential Election.
